SCOTT’S HELICOPTER SERVICES, INC. ANNOUNCES LONG-TERM COOPERATION WITH HAC-COMPOSITES.
Le Sueur, August 26, 2014: Scott’s Helicopter Services, Inc. (SHS) announced today a long term cooperation with HAC-Composites (www.hac-composites.com). This cooperation appoints SHS as the sole distributor of the HAC-Composites owned Supplemental Type Certificate SR09066RC, the HAC-47-3 Advanced Composite Tail Rotor Blade for the Bell 47 family of helicopters.
HAC-Composites owner and president Nick Hertelendy stated “These blades offer a multitude of advantages over the original Bell metal blades, such as:
- Improved Ground Clearance
- Noise Reduction of about 4 db
- 4000 hours Service Life
- Improved Control
- Replaceable Bushings & Abrasion Strips
- Corrosion Resistance / Impervious to salt water
- FAA and EASA approved
“Over 300 sets have been produced and are in use worldwide, with over 500,000 hours of successful fleet experience gathered”, Hertelendy added.
SHS owner and president Scott Churchill explained, “it is a privilege for us to work with a reputable manufacturer such as HAC-Composites on a flight critical component such as the Tail Rotor Blade, for which the production of the OEM equivalent has become cost prohibitive. It remains to be SHS’s prerogative to support the Bell 47 fleet and minimize down time. Most domestic orders will be shipped within 24 hours and international 3-4 days”!
